I think Kalpana’s performance in this film is probably the best performance given by an actress in the entire history of the kannada film industry. The film is great too; shot in eastman color it looks absolutely gorgeous: the colors just leap off the screen. Kanagal’s direction is surehanded. On top of that, all the songs are magnificently written, composed and picturised. A great film through and through.
