These Eastman Colour films made during the 70’s have such excellent picture quality; they look way way better than many films made during the 80’s, the immediate next decade. Aarathi gives an amazing tour de force of a performance here as usual, but Srinath is definitely not that far behind. The film has a strong feminist edge to it, without man-hating themes at all; Puttanna Kanagal always had such strong female characters in his films.

‘ Hema Hema ‘ is my favourite song from this movie.
Puttanna, Arathi, Shrinath and Vijayabhaskar, all have excelled together with lyricist and cinematographer.
