This film is obviously an unofficial remake of the 1940 Best Picture Academy Award winning film Rebecca. Some changes have been made as to certain plot elements but the central story remains the same. I think this was disappointing compared to the classic Laurence Olivier/Joan Fontaine version: the ending which features Srinath in a fight scene and another scene with Leelavathi playing the role played Judith Anderson in the earlier version, just leaving the mansion out of spite, plays out as very odd. It’s an okay watch if anyone loves the Srinath and Manjula pair.
